Residential Care Workers

 

Hiring: Casual and Part-time

Pay: CA$23.23-CA$23.89 per hour

 

Job Description:

A Residential Care Worker provides a homelike environment which is therapeutic and safe. Staff are responsible for providing intensive support and supervision of Adults with complex mental health needs. Please note that there is no direct personal care involved in this position.

 

Candidates must have:

  • work experience in the field and must have Post Secondary Education in the Human Service field;
  • the ability to follow policies, procedures and routines as part of a cohesive team;
  • the ability to foster care plan goals - looking for opportunities to teach and coach;
  • the ability to communicate clearly and professionally ;
  • the ability to respond effectively to behaviors and mental health issues;
  • the ability to respond to crisis and de-escalate emotions;
  • the ability to perform and collaborate with a staffing team on general housekeeping and meal preparation which contributes to a healthy home; and
  • proficiency in oral and written communication skills is essential
